Michael Ghiglione's career to date spans the fields of education, government, and business.


He established the Office of International Student Programs at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington and served three years as Director. Under his aggressive leadership, enrollment of foreign students tripled. During his tenure, he also founded the university's English Language Center, now in its successful 25th year of operation.

Ghiglione then became the Director of Admissions at Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage, where he served for three years.


In 1988, he co-established the Tokyo International Business Center, K.K. For 15 years, operating from the same central Tokyo location, TIBC has been serving the diverse support needs of foreign business clients. One such firm, CISCO Systems, in 1992 contracted with the Center to provide start-up assistance for their initial successful entry into the Japan market.


In 1997, he published his 1st book in Japan (ALC press): 『履歴書と面接の英語』(Business English Guide to Resume and Interview Preparation"). The book has been re-printed 8 times in Japan. Amazon.Com has consistently ranked the book #1 in its category, awarding the book its highest rating: 5 stars.

In 1999, he published his 2nd book ( Mainichi Communications) entitled: "Everything You Need to Know to Get a Job with a Foreign Company" 『外資系企業就職パーフェクトガイド』. In preparing the book, Ghiglione visited over 60 foreign-affiliated firms, interviewing foreign executives and HR managers.

Ghiglione has also published numerous job search articles in several business publications in Japan, one of which was a series of interviews with presidents of foreign corporations. He is a frequent lecturer in the U.S.A. and Japan on topics relating to job search and effective job performance.
